MAKE THE TERMS MAKE SENSE

Our editorial standards

How we support claims, use AI in preparation and review the exact content that is eligible for publication.

Questions covered in this guide

A source must support the claim

Research articles retain the source URL, geographic scope and date of each check. We distinguish national references from local measurements and a source’s factual statement from our own worked example. A link alone is not evidence that every claim on a page is correct. Conflicting or inaccessible source information must be described for the reviewer.

Useful local guidance

A place name does not make a page locally useful. Geographic pages need service-specific information for the stated jurisdiction and original analysis that helps a reader act on it. A ZIP code, Census place or nearby city is not automatically the same service or permitting boundary. Missing prices and search data remain unknown.

AI preparation and human review

AI and software assist with research organization, draft preparation and checks. Calculator arithmetic is implemented in deterministic code. An automated pass or an AI assessment does not constitute human approval. Material pricing, insurance and legal claims require a named human review of the exact saved revision.

Changes and freshness

Saving a change creates a new revision and clears the previous approval. Changes to calculator methodology or reference tables invalidate the matching content fingerprint. Evidence older than 180 days fails the current automated eligibility check. That check is a maximum review interval, not a promise that a source cannot change sooner.
